It's no wonder that Jane became a top box office star; she was one of the Top 10 box office stars in 1937 and 1938.
Most of her films are not on DVD; she had the lead role in over two dozen films.
Hopefully some will be released in a box set one day.

ReplyDeleteThis is probably my favorite Shirley film; the counterplay between Withers and Temple is fantastic, and crazy Uncle Ned is a hoot. This film still stands up today, and because of a strong supporting cast, it keeps Shirley from seeming too sickeningly sweet.
