Tom, When I saw your post yesterday I just about flipped out of my chair. A couple of weeks ago I wrote a bio for N and CF, on the actor, Farley Granger. I was going to feature him for the month of April. I had no idea it would turn into a tribute. He was a great actor.
ReplyDeleteDawn, yours was a lovely tribute. We never know when our time is finished on this earth. Mr Farley lived a long life and I know that he enjoyed meeting his fans, especially in his later years. I never met him personally but I did write to him in 2006 and requested an autograph because my favorite movie of his is Rope with Jimmy Stewart.
ReplyDeleteMy friend on the West Coast did meet him. At a book signing at a Borders a few years ago when he was on a book tour. This was in the Los Angeles area. My friend tried to purchase a book, but they were all sold out, and Borders is pretty strict when it comes to signings - they only want you to get a book signed. But my friend had with him a DVD of Stranges On A Train and asked Farley to sign, and he did anyway. He was a nice man.
